JAKARTA - The Probolinggo Banyuwangi (Probowangi) Toll Road Project Package 3 which is being worked on by PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) has reached 74.9 percent.
The construction of this toll road is targeted to be completed by 2025.
WIKA President Director Agung Budi Waskito stated that the Probowangi Toll Road was built to increase access between the Probolinggo and Banyuwangi areas, which so far only have access to arterial routes.
With the construction of this toll road infrastructure, it is hoped that it will reduce congestion in arterial routes, reduce logistics costs and increase the economic competitiveness of the Probolinggo, Banyuwangi and surrounding areas.
"Through the Probowangi Toll Road, travel time is estimated to decrease by around 30-50 percent, thereby streamlining fuel consumption. Overall, the Probowangi Toll Road is also projected to be able to reduce logistics costs by 10-20 percent," said Budi Waskito in a written statement quoted on Friday, March 14.
In the construction of this project, WIKA implemented cutting-edge technology, including the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) for planning and design efficiency.
WIKA also implements geotechnical technology through the use of drones and 3D mapping for more accurate land surveys.
In addition, WIKA is also collaborating with local governments and local communities to support regional economic growth through empowering local workers and local subcontractors.
As a form of implementing superior ESG, the company also pays attention to the social and environmental impacts in its development.
This is done through the Social Responsibility Program (TJSL), in which WIKA is involved in the construction of village facilities, tree planting and flood prevention for areas around the project.
