CILEGON - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia revealed that PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Perseroan) or PLN increased the number of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) by 7.5 times.

This is done considering the existence of Eid al-Fitr, 2025 where people will go home by electric vehicle.

Bahlil said, later the location of the SPKLU can be tracked through an application belonging to PLN, PLN Mobile so that people can easily find the nearest SPKLU.

"On average, as of 20 kilometers, there is already an SPKLU and PLN has prepared technology facilities by using an online cellphone to ask for information when there are problems in the field. Including when the fuel or case has run out half way, later a car will come to help them," Bahlil told the media crew at TBBM Tanjung Gerem, Cilegon, Thursday, March 13.

Present on the same occasion, the President Director of PT PLN (Persero), Darmawan Prasodjo added, the number of SPKLUs in crowded locations has been significantly increased.

He gave an example, last year there were only 108 SPKLUs with high occupancy, and currently the number has increased to 1,000 SPKLU units.

"So from last year we monitored SPKLU with very high occupancy. And there were several SPKLUs with very low occupancy. Now for high occupancy, it is indeed a location in a strategic area, so we will increase it according to the direction of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources 7.5 times. The amount is one thousand sir. Last year there were about 108 that the occupancy was very high," said Darmawan.

Previously, the Director of Retail and Commerce of PLN, Edi Srimulyanti, said that there were a total of 3,529 SPKLU units operated by PLN and partners, spread over 2,400 points throughout Indonesia.
