Free Opening Since March 11, The Tanjung Pura Toll Road On Brandan Is Crossed By 5,267 Vehicles

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) (Hutama Karya) officially opened the operation of the Binjai Toll Road 'Langsa Section Tanjung Pura' Pangkalan Brandan on Tuesday, March 11, starting at 07.00 WIB. A total of 5,267 vehicles crossed this section on the first and second days.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim said the toll road operation streamlined Binjai's travel time to Pangkalan Brandan from the previous 1.5 hours to only 30 minutes. This section will also make it easier for travelers from Kualanamu Airport Medan to Brandan to Langsa, Aceh.

"Currently it is still in the socialization stage and has not yet been effective. However, road users are still required to bring an electronic money card to tapping when entering the toll gate," said Adjib in a written statement, quoted Thursday, March 13.

In addition, Adjib said, users who continue their journey towards Binjai through the Tanjung Pura Toll Gate (GT) are still subject to normal rates according to the section that has been operating and the previous tariff is set.

As part of his support for the opening of this toll road, previously on Wednesday, March 5, Hutama Karya received a visit from the Expert Staff of the Minister II of the Ministry of Public Works (PU) Abram Elsaya Barus; along with officials at the Ministry of Public Works. Among others, the Director of Bridges of the Directorate General of Highways Rakhman, Head of BBPJN North Sumatra Stanleyget Haggard Tuapattinaja and Head of the Development Division of BBPJN North Sumatra Haryono. They visited the Toll Gate (GT) Pangkalan Brandan and Rest Area KM 41.

During his visit, Abram emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness and comfort in all operational areas and ensuring the readiness of toll roads in dealing with the 2025 Eid homecoming flow.

"Cleanliness and comfort in every toll road facility must be a top priority, especially in the face of a spike in traffic during the homecoming period," said Abram.

"With careful readiness, this toll road can provide maximum benefits for the community," he continued.
