Luhut Reveals US Investors Interested In In Investing In Indonesia

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Economic Council (DEN) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan revealed that the investor from the United States, Ray Dalio, is very interested in opening investment opportunities in Indonesia because he is very impressed by Indonesia's economic data.

"Because he was very impressed with President Prabowo, and was impressed with the meeting, and he was also impressed with Indonesia's economic data," he explained to the media crew, Wednesday, March 12.

He also appreciated the low level of state debt and good coordination between the government, but he emphasized the importance of consistency in implementing existing regulations.

Furthermore, Luhut explained that they agreed to continue the follow-up to the meeting. The President has given approval to start a pilot project with Ray Dalio.

"We also agreed with Ray Dalio to follow up yesterday, because the President has agreed with us and with Pak Airlangga. We will have a pilot project that will soon be with Ray Dalio," he explained.

Currently, Luhut said the government is preparing technical finalization for family office and special economic zones in Bali, which includes two locations, namely Kura-Kura and Sano.

Luhut said the government would start with this, and if there were other things that needed to be considered, it would be resolved, such as Batang, for example, in the context of a country twin park, it would report to the President so that it could be implemented immediately.

"We will start with that, later if there are others we will pursue, such as Batang, for example, Batang in the context of a country twin park, we will report to the President, so that we can run it," he said.

Luhut conveyed that this step was taken in order to create jobs and encourage labor-intensive programs.

According to him, if regulations such as amdal and permits are accelerated, several hundred thousand jobs can be created in the near future, and that is not difficult.

"Because I think if we accelerate the rules, whether in amdal, permits and so on, I think it will be several hundred thousand jobs in the future, it will not be difficult," he said.
