PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia or KAI Commuter has again received the arrival of 2 new Electric Rail Train (KRL) trainsets or 24 trains (SF12) from CCRC Sifang, China at Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta.

Previously, a new KRL trainset had also arrived at the end of January 2025. With the addition of two new trainsets that came yesterday, the total is three trainsets.

VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Joni Martinus explained that the arrival of this new KRL facility is part of the 11 trainsets ordered by KAI Commuter.

"Until now, the total KAI Commuter has brought in 36 train units or as many as three new KRL trainers," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, March 12.

Joni also emphasized that the arrival process for this new facility, KAI Commuter, always monitors the timeline to keep its time delivery plan in line.

"The addition of this new KRL facility is KAI Commuter's effort to make changes or reimbursements for KRL facilities that will enter a conservation period," he said.

Joni explained that the new KRL series will also be sent to the Depok KRL Depot for a thorough initial check before an internal assessment is carried out by KAI Commuter.

After that, continued Joni, testing will be carried out by the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation in accordance with the Minister of Transportation Number PM 49 of 2023 concerning Standards, Procedures for Testing, and Certification of the Feasibility of the Normal Speed Train by Driving Itself.

"KAI Commuter hopes that the arrival of this new KRL facility, the testing and certification process can be in accordance with the plan so that it can be operated immediately for Commuter Line user services and the wider community," he said.
