Pindad And PLN Sign MOU For Clean Power Plant Development For 3T Regions

PT PLN (Persero) signed a memorandum of understanding with PT Pindad in collaboration with a study on the development of potential pikohidro and microhydro plants in the outermost, leading, and underdeveloped (3T) regions in supporting electrification and energy transition in Indonesia.

PLN President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo, explained that PLN and Pindad will carry out a Joint Development Study Agreement to produce a picohydro/microhydro generator and manage its operations and maintenance. This collaboration is a strategic step to utilize the surrounding natural resources for the welfare of the community and accelerate the energy transition in Indonesia.

"Through this collaboration, we want to optimize renewable energy sources that are more environmentally friendly and encourage equal access to electricity to remote areas of the country," said Darmawan, Wednesday, March 11.

Darmawan explained, since 1988, Pindad and PLN have collaborated on electricity projects, including maintenance of generators and rehabilitation of electrical equipment. This MoU is a continuation of the strategic cooperation between the two SOEs in realizing national energy security.

President Director of PT Pindad, Sigit P. Santosa emphasized the importance of synergy with the Government and various SOEs to encourage innovation, use of domestic products, and national strategic progress.

We hope that today's cooperation can move the economic impact multiplier effect which is quite high. So that the economic growth launched by the new government under the leadership of the President can be achieved. We hope that this collaboration can become the backbone of not only in the defense and security industry but also in the energy sector, the infrastructure sector and the advanced material sector," concluded Sigit.
