Ministry Of Industry Issues 20 Apple Product Certificates, IPhone 16 Ready To Be Sold In Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has issued Domestic Component Level (TKDN) certificates for 20 Apple products, consisting of 11 TKDN certificates for mobile phone products and nine TKDN certificates for tablet computer products.

Each of the TKDN certificates has been signed by the Head of the Ministry of Industry's Center for Domestic Product Development (P3DN).

"We have issued 20 TKDN certificates of Apple products. The issuance of the 20 certificates was carried out after Apple was sanctioned for default in the 2020-2023 period and again complying with regulations related to the HKT TKDN policy, namely, Permenperin No. 29 of 2017," said Ministry of Industry spokesman Febri Hendri Antoni Arif in his written statement, Friday, March 7.

Febri said Apple chose scheme 3 in the proposal period 2025-2028, one of which contained Apple's commitment to building research and innovation facilities in Indonesia worth 160 million US dollars.

Research and Innovation Centers in Indonesia are the second Apple research and innovation facilities outside the United States and the first in Asia.

Furthermore, the 20 Apple products must obtain a postal and telecommunication certificate (postel) from the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi). The postal certificate from the Ministry of Trade is then a requirement to obtain an Imported Product Registration Sign (TPP) from the Ministry of Industry.

TPP Imports from the Ministry of Industry as a condition for all imported Apple products to obtain IMEI and Import Approval (PI) from the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag).

"After obtaining 20 TKDN certificates, Apple can already apply for a postal certificate for all their products to Komdigi," said Febri.

After receiving a TKDN certificate and a postal certificate from Komdigi, said Febri, Apple is entitled to an Import TPP for all of its products which will be used as a condition for obtaining IMEI numbers from CEIR and PI from the Ministry of Trade.

As for the official TKDN belonging to the Ministry of Industry, there are five iPhone 16 series models that appear, including A3287, A3290, A3293, A3296 and A3409.

The TKDN page itself does not explain the names of the products of each of these models.

However, after being traced from the Apple Indonesia website, a number of model numbers referred to the iPhone 16 series device.

Here are the details:

1. A3287 - iPhone 16

2. A3290 - iPhone 16 Plus

3. A3293 - iPhone 16 Pro

4. A3296 - iPhone 16 Pro Max

5 A3409 - iPhone 16e

With the emergence of the five model numbers, it also confirms that the iPhone 16 series device has passed the certification and is ready to be traded in Indonesia.
