JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) revealed that the Consumer Price Index (IHK) in February 2025 experienced deflation of 0.48 percent (mtm), so that on an annual basis the JCI experienced a deflation of 0.09 percent (yoy), or a decrease compared to the previous month which recorded inflation of 0.76 percent (yoy).

Denny said that the core group inflation in February 2025 was recorded at 0.25 percent (mtm), lower than the realization in the previous month of 0.30 percent (mtm).
According to him, the development of core inflation is mainly influenced by the increase in the prices of several global commodities, amidst the expectations of maintained inflation.
"The realization of core inflation in February 2025 was contributed mainly by inflation of gold jewelery, powdered coffee and cars," he said.
Denny said that on an annual basis, core inflation in February 2025 was recorded at 2.48 percent (yoy), an increase from the previous month's realization of 2.36 percent (yoy).
In addition, Denny said that in February 2025 there was a deflation of 0.93 percent (mtm), a decrease compared to inflation in the previous month of 2.95 percent (mtm).
"The deflation of the volatile food group was contributed mainly by broiler meat commodities, various chilies, and shallots, in line with the reduction in input costs for animal feed production and increased production of horticultural commodities," he added.
On an annual basis, Denny said that the volatile food group experienced inflation of 0.56 percent (yoy), a decrease from the previous month's inflation of 3.07 percent (yoy).
