Fulfilling Food Self-Sufficiency Needs, Pupuk Indonesia Ensures Production And Distribution Continues When Fasting

JAKARTA - PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) ensures that the production and distribution process continues during Ramadan 1446 H. So that it can meet the needs of farmers and support the government's food self-sufficiency program.

The Marketing Director of Pupuk Indonesia, Tri Wahyudi Saleh, said this was a serious concern considering that farmers in a number of areas needed fertilizer to face the planting season in April 2025.

"As SOEs that are mandated by the government to produce and distribute subsidized fertilizers, we are committed to continuing to provide the best service to farmers, especially farmers starting to enter the planting season again," said Tri Wahyudi quoting Antara.

To support the distribution process, Pupuk Indonesia currently uses 516 warehouses with a total capacity of 2.89 million tons.

Meanwhile, distribution infrastructure is supported by 1,067 distributors with 25,903 kiosk or retailer networks, 107 ship service providers with 179 shipping routes, 274 truck service providers with 1,288 routes, plus four distribution routes via train.

Tri Wahyudi ensured that the supply chain for Pupuk Indonesia continued to operate during Ramadan, even before or after Eid al-Fitr.

Furthermore, he said registered farmers who already have subsidized fertilizer allocations can immediately redeem to complete fertilizer kiosks (KPL) or retailers by bringing Identity Cards (KTP) and cash in accordance with the amount of fertilizer that was redeemed.

Farmers can redeem using the iPubers application that has been downloaded by kiosk or retailers.

Based on applicable regulations, the redeeming of subsidized fertilizers can be represented for registered farmers who experience several obstacles such as missing or differences in ID card data, dead farmers, and unable to redeem due to health factors.

"The ease of redeeming subsidized fertilizers by bringing ID cards for registered farmers can already be done around 25,903 kiosks or retailers who have implemented the iPubers application, so that registered farmers can easily redeem subsidized fertilizers to meet their fertilizer needs," he said.

Based on company data, Pupuk Indonesia has succeeded in distributing 1,181,590 tons of subsidized fertilizer until February 27, 2025.

Meanwhile, when viewed in detail, Pupuk Indonesia has distributed 568,869 tons of subsidized urea fertilizer, 564,325 tons of NPK fertilizer, 8,222 tons of Special Formula NPK fertilizer, and 40,175 tons of organic fertilizer to registered farmers.

In order to meet the needs of registered farmers during the month of Ramadan, Pupuk Indonesia is committed to maintaining the availability of fertilizers by preparing a fertilizer stock of 1,598,598 tons. Divided by 1,167,315 tons of subsidized fertilizer and 431,283 tons of non-subsidized fertilizer.

The availability of subsidized fertilizer stocks reached 314 percent compared to the minimum stock stipulated by the government.
