Deputy Kadin Said The Government Needs To Search For Innovation In Creating A New Economic Machine

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (Kadin) Heru Dewanto revealed that the government and all parties must seek innovation in encouraging the economy so that it can achieve an economic target of 8 percent.

"All parties must take responsibility to achieve it so that it can really be realized. One of the main keys is innovation," he said in his statement, Tuesday, February 25.

According to him, President Prabowo's administration is faced with the challenge of 8 percent growth to achieve Indonesia Gold 2045. So the creation of new economic machines is a necessity.

"Only with innovation, we will create new economic machines," he explained.

On the other hand, Heru shared his experience when Sam Altman visited Jakarta where greetings for a participant conference asked about the secret to Silicon Valley's success compared to other innovation commercialization incubation centers in the world.

"Sam explained that the people there are accustomed to failure in innovation. They understand very well that the success rate of innovation to go through what is known as the valley of death until commercialization is very small," he said.

However, if an innovator fails to commercialize his innovation despite gaining investor confidence, he will not be shunned by investors or the financial system there.

"More importantly, he will not be subject to social judgment or social judgment. The people there will not consider him a loser because they only failed to innovate," he added.

Heru emphasized that this is very important to be applied in an innovation climate in Indonesia with innovations that can produce new money so that it must wholeheartedly support the nation's children to innovate.

"Jeff Bezos explained why big tech companies were mostly born in America, as well as entrepreneurs and other major venture capitals. All of this is not just a better banking system, because Europe also has the same system," he said.

Heru said that according to him, the main thing is because they have a superior Risk Capital. In America, an innovator can earn a Seed Capital of up to 50 million US dollars even though the chances of success over his innovation are only 10 percent.
