BRIS Shares Reap Positive Performance Amid Market Uncertainty

JAKARTA - In the midst of market uncertainty, PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BRIS) shares recorded solid performance in the period 17-21 February 2025.

During that period, BRIS' share price rose 4.78 percent to IDR 3,070 at the close of trading on February 18, 2025, compared to early February 2025.

"Despite facing market uncertainty due to global sentiment, BRIS is still able to provide favorable added value for shareholders thanks to its strong fundamentals," Wisnu Sunandar, Corporate Secretary of Bank Syariah Indonesia in Jakarta, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, February 22.

Meanwhile, at the close of trading on Friday (21/2/2025), BRIS managed to record an increase of 3.41 percent year to date to reach the level of IDR 3,030. This shows BRIS's stock attractiveness which continues to strengthen among investors.

The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) also closed trading on Friday (21/2) in the green zone, after two consecutive days of weakening.

Citing data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), the JCI increased by 14.95 points, an increase of 0.22 percent to the level of 6,803.00 at the close of the trade.

Although the overall stock market is experiencing uncertainty, BRIS has been able to maintain its growth trend stably since the beginning of the year. Since early 2025 (year to date), BRIS shares have recorded growth of 10.99 percent, although the JCI and many financial sector shares are in a bearish trend.

This positive performance was driven by several factors, including the issuance of a Bulion business license from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to BRIS on February 12, 2025. This permit provides new opportunities for BRIS in developing the gold trading and gold storage business, which has the potential to increase the company's revenue.

In addition, BRIS' positive performance is also in line with BSI's achievement in 2024, where the company recorded a net profit of IDR 7.01 trillion, growing 22.83 percent on an annual basis. The BSI financial sector continues to grow significantly, especially in terms of Third Party Funds (DPK), financing, and assets recorded to have increased substantially.

"Investors' trust in BRIS continues to increase thanks to consistent performance and the growing business prospects, especially through the innovation and digitization of products implemented by BSI," said Wisnu.
