Commission XI Reveals Mechanism For Issuing Housing SBN Will Be Discussed In A Joint Meeting Of The DPR

JAKARTA - The government plans to issue debt financing sourced from special housing Government Securities (SBN) to support the 3 million housing program for low-income people (MBR) launched by President Prabowo Subianto.

This was conveyed by Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani after a meeting with the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait, Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Dony Oskaria, Governor of Bank Indonesia Perry Warjiyo and Chairman of Commission XI DPR Mukhamad Misbakhun.

Chairman of Commission XI of the DPR, Mukhamad Misbakhun, explained that the mechanism will certainly be discussed next week together with Commission XI of the DPR and related parties.

"Wait for the results of the Commission 11 meeting with the Minister of Finance, with the Governor of Bank Indonesia, and with the Minister of PKB. When is it sir? I want to drop it next weeks," he told the media crew, Thursday, February 20.

Misbakhun said that the details will be discussed further and is a form of commitment to support the Asta Cita program, one of which includes housing programs.

"Later, please wait for the process at the Commission XI meeting with the Minister of Finance, with the Governor of Bank Indonesia, with the Minister of PKP, next week," he said.

Misbakhun said that the housing program initiated by President Prabowo Subianto is a program that must be realized and can be implemented.

According to him, this program must get adequate liquidity support, because liquidity support is the most important thing to overcome backlog.

Misbakhun added that the liquidity support came from Bank Indonesia and regarding its form and mechanism, he could not convey it openly today because he still needed approval and consolidation at Commission XI of the DPR RI to support the additional liquidity program for the housing sector.

"Earlier, as I promised, I would consolidate it to provide full support. That they have no doubts in order to make that support," said Misbakhun.

Misbakhun ensured that the mechanisms to be implemented would not violate the provisions contained in the laws and regulations.

"The meeting used to be in the DPR, what kind of approval, what mechanisms to form, the formation of liquidity, and what programs will be directed to, please wait," he explained.
