Regarding SMEs Managing Mines, Deputy Minister Of MSMEs Ensures His Ministry As Verifier

Deputy Minister of MSMEs Helvi Yuni Moriza opened her voice regarding the ratification of the Minerba Bill as a law that provides priority bidders to SMEs to manage mines.

Helvy emphasized that later not all SMEs will be able to apply for Niri to manage mines. For this reason, the ministry will be tasked with verifying the appropriate SMEs.

"The Ministry of MSMEs is included in the mining verification process," he said when met by media crews at the Smesco Building, Thursday, February 20.

After going through the verification process, continued Hervy, his party will then provide recommendations to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) to issue a Mining Business License (IUP).

"We verified. Then we recommended after we verified," added Hervy.

He emphasized that the Ministry of MSMEs will carry out strict verification so that later the recommended SMEs will really have the capacity of d capital in managing mining.

"Yes (verification) based on the feasibility of the business and all kinds of things," he added.

For this reason, he said, the Ministry of MSMEs will prioritize the MSME sector which has mining land so that mining activities run according to the rules.

"Don't underestimate that many local entrepreneurs do have land. So, are they allowed to become illegal miners? That's why there are changes. One of them is legalizing it," said Hervy.
