The Ministry Of Public Works Calls The 2025 Eid Holiday Toll Rate Discount Can Be More Than 10 Percent

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) opens the opportunity for a toll rate discount of more than 10 percent during the 2025 Eid holiday.

Director General of Highways of the Ministry of Public Works, Roy Rizali Anwar, said that currently his party together with the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) are discussing the plan.

He added that BUJT had given a 10 percent toll rate discount on the momentum of the 2024/2025 Christmas and New Year holidays. According to Roy, his party will try to get BUJT to provide a toll rate discount of more than that amount.

"This is being discussed with BUJT friends. Later, we will call them to ensure that Pak Prabowo's direction can be carried out. It's just a matter of when, how much is the rate, how much is it and so on," said Roy when met after a hearing (RDP) with Commission V DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 19.

"Hopefully (giving tariff discounts) is not less than yesterday's Nataru was 10 percent. Hopefully, it's not less than that, maybe more than that," he continued.

According to Roy, President Prabowo Subianto himself directed that there be discounts on toll rates during the Eid holiday later. This needs to be done to support the smooth flow of traffic during the homecoming and return of Eid.

He said the discounting of toll rates would be given at a favorite time for people to go home for Eid.

"Just set the time so we don't pile up the peak hour, at the peak of the homecoming. Maybe we will move it over the previous few days. So that there we might give discounts, so that people can (move) back and forth at that time to break up traffic jams," he added.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto announced eight policies to encourage economic growth in the first quarter of 2025, including a stimulus to boost people's purchasing power.

One of them is the Ramadan-Lebaran 2025 stimulus which includes discounted flight ticket prices, discounted toll rates, discounted shopping programs such as Harbolnas 2025, the EPIC Sales 2025 program and the 2025 Discount BINA.

"The HBKN stimulus for Ramadan: a. discounted plane ticket prices. b. discount toll rates. c. shopping discount programs such as Harbolnas 2025, EPIC Sales 2025 programs and BINA Discount 2025.d. Eid homecoming tourism programs (related Ministry of Tourism and SOEs). e. stabilization of food prices," Prabowo said at a press conference at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, February 17.
