Toto explained that currently, America imposes a 40 percent import rate for electric vehicle products. Unlike Indonesia, he said, it only charges a tariff of 10 percent. Toto considered this to be an advantage if Indonesia developed a more massive electric vehicle industry.
"The advantage we get if we make the battery production base not only for Indonesia, but also for the global need, including for the United States," explained Toto.
IBC, said Toto, is also developing a roadmap for the development of the battery industry. For this reason, he emphasized the importance of overseeing the regulation of the electric vehicle battery industry from upstream to downstream.
