DPR Approves BPK Budget To Be Cut To IDR 1.38 Trillion

The expenditure efficiency of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) in the State Budget (APBN) for Fiscal Year 2025 was approved at IDR 1.38 trillion from the original ceiling of IDR 6.15 trillion to IDR 4.77 trillion.

"The purpose of BPK's budget efficiency for Fiscal Year 2025 is to improve the governance and work procedures of resources (power, costs, and time), so as to avoid unnecessary expenses and optimize work results," said Chairman of Commission XI DPR RI Mukhamad Misbakhun quoting Antara.

In detail, the expenditure of employees in the BPK budget did not occur in efficiency or fixed from the original ceiling of Rp3.3 trillion.

The most efficiency occurred for goods expenditure of IDR 1.39 trillion from the original ceiling of IDR 2.69 trillion to IDR 1.36 trillion. Meanwhile, the efficiency of capital expenditure was set at IDR 56 billion from the original ceiling of IDR 140 billion to IDR 84 billion.

In goods expenditures, the portion of examination spending gets the largest portion of efficiency compared to operational goods expenditures and non-examination spending. Inspection spending is efficient of IDR 642 billion from the original ceiling of IDR 1.3 trillion to IDR 657.99 billion.

The efficiency of operating goods expenditure of Rp318 billion from the original ceiling of Rp670.6 billion to Rp352.6 billion. Meanwhile, the efficiency of non-examination spending of Rp367.9 billion from the original ceiling of Rp718 billion to Rp350 billion.

In carrying out budget efficiency, BPK is said to have considered and ensured that budget efficiency was implemented with certain program strategies and mitigation.

Thus, this will not reduce the quality of public services and will still be able to carry out the target and function of institutional mandatory in accordance with the mandate of the legislation.

Member of Commission XI DPR RI Fathi said that in general budget efficiency is a good thing, but do not let the efficiency carried out reduce the quality of examination activities carried out by BPK.

He underlined that inspection spending has the largest portion of efficiency among other expenditures. Fathi hopes that the components reduced are not essential components that can interfere with performance or quality and examination output.

"Don't let the lack of availability from the work facilities so that the Rp3.3 trillion expenditure of employees eventually becomes ineffective. Hopefully, the Secretary General of the BPK and his staff will be given smoothness. We support it. And once again, please ensure that the output or quality of the examination from the BPK is not reduced because of this efficiency," said Fathi.
