Executive Director of the BI Communication Department, Ramdan Denny Prakoso, said that the retail sales performance was mainly supported by the growth of the Cultural and Recreational Goods Group and Information and Communication Equipment which increased compared to the previous month.

As for December 2024, IPR was recorded at 222 or an annual growth of 1.8 percent (yoy), higher than the growth in November 2024 of 0.9 percent (yoy).
Denny said that growth in December 2024 was mainly driven by the Parts of Cadang and Accessori as well as Cultural and Recreational Goods.
On a monthly basis, retail sales performance in December 2024 grew by 5.9 percent (mtm), better than the previous month which contracted 0.4 percent (mtm).
Meanwhile, all commodity groups recorded positive growth with the highest growth in the Information and Communication Equipment Group, followed by the Parts of Cadang and Accessori, as well as Cultural and Recreational Goods.
Denny said the increase was driven by increasing public demand in line with the celebration of HBKN Nataru.
