Implementation Of Troubled Frequency Galimax, Government-DPR Agree To Use Old System

JAKARTA - The government and Commission XI of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR) have agreed to return to using the old tax system so as not to interfere with the collectivity of tax revenues in 2025.

Chairman of Commission XI DPR RI Misbakhun said that Commission XI of the DPR RI had listened to an explanation from the Director General of Taxes, Ministry of Finance regarding the implementation of the beliax system.

Misbakhun conveyed the use of the old tax system as an anticipation in mitigating the implementation of the beliax which is currently being perfected so as not to interfere with state revenues.

"Earlier we concluded that the Directorate General of Taxes should reuse the old tax system so that the language is yes, anticipation in mitigating the implementation of the graffiti which is still being refined so as not to interfere with the collectivity of tax revenues," he told the media crew, Monday, February 10.

Misbakhun added that the Directorate General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance guarantees that any IT system used will not affect the efforts to collect tax revenues in the State Budget for Fiscal Year 2025.

In addition, Misbakhun said that the Directorate General of Taxes will prepare the lowest risk-based coretax implementation roadmap and facilitate services to Taxpayers.

Misbakhun said that the Directorate General of Taxes would not impose sanctions on taxpayers caused by interference with the application of the beliax system by 2025.

"The Directorate General of Taxes, Ministry of Finance in the context of improving the beliax system is obliged to strengthen Cyber Security," he added.

Furthermore, Misbakhun said, the Directorate General of Taxes, Ministry of Finance will report the development of the beliax system to Commission XI of the DPR RI on a regular basis.

"Director General of Taxes, Ministry of Finance will deliver a written answer to questions and responses from the leadership and members of Commission XI of the DPR RI no later than 7 working days," he said.

Previously, the implementation of the beliax application, aka the core system of tax administration, had problems since it was officially launched on January 1, 2025.

The interference with the implementation of the graffiti has received a lot of attention from taxpayers and even state officials themselves.

In fact, Chairman of the National Economic Council Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto signed the office of the Directorate General of Taxes to directly check the implementation of the beliax.

On the same occasion, Director General of Taxes Suryo Utomo stated that his party would soon prepare a roadmap for the implementation of the beliax and his party would re-implement the old tax system such as the Online DGT, Desktop e-Facture, and others.

However, the implementation of the foliax will still run.
