Allegations Of Brokers Of Manpower In Karawang Companies, Wamenaker Noel Says This

Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan said the alleged brokering of private workers in Karawang, West Java, should be in the spotlight and eradicated if this happens.

Noel asked the company to be aware that brokers can run rampant, so they must actively participate in prevention efforts.

"Even don't let people 'sell information' to outsiders," Noel said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, February 6.

This brokering practice is in the spotlight of Wamenaker because he saw the upload on the West Java Governor Elected social media account Dedi Mulyadi who said there was a broker in Karawang.

In the upload, Dedi said that to be accepted into a company, some have to pay Rp. 3 million, Rp. 5 million, Rp. 7 million, and sometimes even have to pay Rp. 15 million to the brokers.

"Thank you to the elected Governor of Java Bawat, Mr. Dedi Mulyadi, for opening this problem," said Noel.

Furthermore, Noel said, the journey of prospective workers until they are accepted to work in a company/factories, has actually been long and sacrificed a lot of energy.

So if it is still burdened by the brokers, he has a really concerning value.

Through the same upload, Dedi said he would meet with all industrial areas in West Java to map the needs of the workforce for the next 10 years.

From the need for labor, the West Java Regional Government (Pemda) translated it through education by increasing Vocational High Schools (SMK), and encouraging the implementation of job training in various regions.

Wamenaker Noel appreciated Dedi Mulyadi's work plan when he later became governor.

"What Mr. Dedi designed really helps with the distribution of labor. Hopefully, other local governments will imitate Pak Dedi's steps, for our sake of Indonesia," said Noel.

To all companies in Indonesia, Noel appealed to announce the need or selection of workers openly long before, and convey the plan to recruit workers to the local Manpower Office.
