Cost Telan Rp479.7 Billion, Ministry Of Public Works Completes RI's Liaison Bridge

The Directorate General of Highways of the Ministry of Public Works (PU) has completed the construction of the Sambas Besar River Bridge in Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan Province.

The value of the work project reached Rp479.7 billion.

The presence of this 1,262 meter long bridge has been eagerly awaited and responded positively to by the people of Sambas Regency.

The reason is, this bridge will facilitate mobility and connectivity of residents from Tebas District with Tekarang District or vice versa, including the accessibility of corridors in the Indonesia border area, Malaysia.

Director General of Highways of the Ministry of Public Works, Roy Rizali Anwar, said that the construction of a bridge as a liaison for an area is very much needed, especially in supporting the economic activities of the people in the surrounding area.

"With the presence of the Sambas Besar River Bridge, connectivity will increase in West Kalimantan and also facilitate logistics transportation, so as to support economic growth in the area," Roy said in a written statement, quoted on Tuesday, February 4.

The construction of the Sambas Besar River Bridge began to be carried out in 2021 with the budget for the 2021-2024 State Budget worth IDR479.7 billion.

Currently, the bridge construction has been completed and a function-worthy test has been carried out to ensure the bridge is in good condition in a system and structure.

The Sambas Besar River Bridge has a length of 1,262.3 meters equipped with a Gelagar-type preprint Type I Pile Slab bridge on both sides. The main stretch of the 150 meter bridge is 11 meters wide for 2 two-way road lanes, including the 2times1.5 meter sidewalk.

The bridge structure is designed with the Telescopic Strutt method on directional work, so that the shoe can lengthen and stagnate with the help of a hydraulic jack to regulate the bridge's geometry and can rotate according to the planned angle between curvature steel and bridge crossings.

The use of the telescopic structure construction method on this bridge is being submitted to record MURI and also as the longest Network Tied Arch curvature bridge in Indonesia.

The bridge, which is located in Makrampai Village, Tekarang Village, can be used by vehicle traffic from various regions in Sambas Regency.

So that people no longer need to use ferry services to cross the Sambas Besar River to transport their vehicles.
