The Directorate General of Highways of the Ministry of Public Works (PU) has completed the construction of the Sambas Besar River Bridge in Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan Province.
The value of the work project reached Rp479.7 billion.

"With the presence of the Sambas Besar River Bridge, connectivity will increase in West Kalimantan and also facilitate logistics transportation, so as to support economic growth in the area," Roy said in a written statement, quoted on Tuesday, February 4.
The construction of the Sambas Besar River Bridge began to be carried out in 2021 with the budget for the 2021-2024 State Budget worth IDR479.7 billion.
Currently, the bridge construction has been completed and a function-worthy test has been carried out to ensure the bridge is in good condition in a system and structure.
The Sambas Besar River Bridge has a length of 1,262.3 meters equipped with a Gelagar-type preprint Type I Pile Slab bridge on both sides. The main stretch of the 150 meter bridge is 11 meters wide for 2 two-way road lanes, including the 2times1.5 meter sidewalk.
The bridge structure is designed with the Telescopic Strutt method on directional work, so that the shoe can lengthen and stagnate with the help of a hydraulic jack to regulate the bridge's geometry and can rotate according to the planned angle between curvature steel and bridge crossings.
