Cijurey Dam Project Targeted To Be Completed At The End Of October 2027

PT Hutama Karya (Persero) targets the construction of the Cijurey Dam in Bogor, West Java, to be completed in full by the end of 2027.

The Cijurey Dam construction project which was initiated through Operational Cooperation (KSO) Hutama Karya with PT SAC Nusantara (KSO Hutama-SAC Nusantara) is considered to continue according to the set schedule.

"This project is targeted to start producing in August 2027 and complete completely at the end of October 2027, one year faster than the contract time previously scheduled until October 2028," said Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim as quoted from his written statement, Tuesday, January 21.

Adjib said that there had been issues related to damage to access roads through project vehicles, but the company had carried out maintenance and repair of roads affected by the mobilization of project vehicles, as part of the company's commitment.

"Hutama Karya together with local government officials continue to coordinate to improve and improve the quality of access roads to project sites," he said.

In early January 2025, the company had made repairs to a number of damaged road points and implemented stricter traffic arrangements, including regulating vehicle intervals and moving operational hours of material shipments at night to reduce the impact on the mobility of the surrounding community.

Adjib said that the Cijurey Dam project was also carried out by taking into account social and environmental responsibilities (TJSL).

A number of proactive steps have been taken to mitigate the impact of the project, including temporary road maintenance at affected points to ensure smooth access for local residents, strict environmental impact management, including dust control, construction waste management and reforestation around the dam area.

"Various direct benefits for the community have been felt. This project also contributes greatly to the welfare of the community and the sustainability of the environment in the Bogor Regency area," he said.

The construction of the Cijurey Dam itself has provided a number of tangible benefits for the surrounding community, including local job opportunities, of which 60 percent of the workers involved in this project come from the local community.

This not only provides additional income for local families, but also improves the skills of the workforce around the project site.

This water infrastructure is targeted to be able to start producing in August 2027 and complete completely by the end of October 2027, one year faster than the contract time previously scheduled until October 2028.

"With the progress of development continuing to increase and solid community support, the Cijurey Dam project is expected to have a significant positive impact on the Bogor Regency area, both in terms of social, economic and environmental terms," he concluded.
