Acting (Plt) Head of BPS Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti said durian imports throughout 2024 mostly came from neighboring countries, namely Malaysia and Thailand.

"As of December 2024, we import durian 459.3 tons. The value is 3.6 million US dollars, the origin of durian imports from January to December 2024 is Malaysia and Thailand," he said at a press conference, Wednesday, January 15.

On a monthly basis, said Amalia, Indonesia's total durian imports in December 2024 were 29.8 tons. The import value reached 246.7 thousand US dollars.

"If it's 246.7 thousand US dollars, the origin is mostly from Malaysia," he said.

Although recorded imports, Amalia said Indonesia also exports durian to various countries. The total durian exports throughout 2024 are 600 tons.

"So throughout 2024 we will reach 600 tons with a value of 1.8 million US dollars and the main destination country that throughout 2024 we will export durian to Thailand as well and to Hong Kong," he explained.

Amalia said the monthly export of durian in December 2024 totaled 87.2 tons with a value of 52.6 thousand US dollars.

"The durian export in December 2024 was recorded at 87.2 tons with a value of 52.6 thousand US dollars and the main objectives of Malaysia and Hong Kong," he said.
