InJourney Airports Projects Passengers To Reach 9.27 Million During Christmas And New Year

PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) projects that the number of aircraft passenger movements at 37 airports will be managed to reach 9.27 million passengers during the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 (Nataru) periods.

InJourney Airports President Director Faik Fahmi said that the number of aircraft passenger movements at 37 InJourney Airports in this year's period rose by around 6 percent compared to the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year's transportation of 8.71 million.

Faik explained that the increase in the number of passengers on Christmas 2024 and New Year's transportation in 2025 was driven by the growing demand for air travel after the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, it is also supported by the government's program to reduce aircraft ticket prices supported by the entire aviation ecosystem.

As is known, as part of a joint effort to lower plane ticket prices, InJourney Airports lowers Aircraft Passenger Service (PJP2U) or Passenger Service Charge (PSC) rates by 50 percent.

In addition, InJourney Airports also lowered the tariff for Aircraft Landing, Placement, and Storage Services (PJP4U) by 50 percent to support airline operations.

"This policy is a positive factor in exciting flights and moving the wheels of the economy and tourism, especially during the long holiday at the end of this year," he said in an official statement, Thursday, December 19.

Faik said the two busiest InJourney Airports at Nataru are Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang with an estimated number of passengers reaching 3.05 million, an increase of about 7 percent from the previous 2.85 million passengers and Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport with 1.39 million passengers, an increase of about 7 percent from the previous 1.27 million passengers.

Furthermore, Faik explained that in the midst of high flight traffic at the end of this year, InJourney Airports' priorities remain in the smooth operation of airports including aspects of security, safety, services and health.

In line with this, InJourney Airports opens the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year Air Transport Command Post from 18 December 2024 to 5 January 2025 or 19 days.

Faik said to support airport operations, InJourney Airports alerted a total of 15,939 personnel consisting of operational personnel, services, engineering, and support, including aviation security, customer service, Airport Rescue & Fire Fighting (ARFF) and BKO TNI & Polri, facility care, AOC / TOCC, and so on.
