JAKARTA - PT KAI (Persero) and its subsidiaries carry out campaign activities to prevent acts of violence and sexual harassment on train trips and in the station area. This activity was carried out simultaneously at 14 stations in all cities in the working area of the KAI Group today.

KAI Commuter itself, conducts its campaign centered at Tanah Abang Station which is filled with talk shows related to the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Other than at Tanah Abang Station. KAI Commuter also conducted campaigns at Bogor Station and Cikarang Station through posters and stickers.

President Director of KAI Commuter Roppig Lutzfi Azhar said the purpose of this Simultaneous campaign was to raise public awareness so as not to commit acts of violence and harassment in accordance with public transportation, especially KRL.

Roppig said earlier on Tuesday, June 21, KAI Commuter officers arrested the perpetrators of sexual harassment on the KRL. After further investigation was carried out at the Buaran Station Security Post, the perpetrators were handed over to the East Jakarta Metro Police for legal processing.

"This campaign is important to invite the public so that when using KRL transportation services they care for each other, respect and respect fellow customers. So that rail transportation can be realized that is safe and comfortable for all customers," said Roppig.

In this activity, KAI Commuter also involves various parties to participate in voicing the prevention of sexual harassment. External parties in this simultaneous campaign include Komnas Perempuan, the Indonesian Consumers Foundation and the Train Lovers Community.
