BPKN Opens Up, It Turns Out That BLBI Corruption Assets Confiscated In Jatinegara Were Built For Housing And Sold Through KPR

JAKARTA - The National Consumer Protection Agency (BPKN) revealed that confiscated assets resulting from the corruption of Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) were traded through public housing loans (KPR). The asset in question is land that has been built for housing in the Jatinegara area, East Jakarta.

Deputy Chairman of BPKN Mufti Mubarok said his party had reported the matter to the Attorney General's Office. However, he said, until now there has not been a definite follow-up even though an investigation has been carried out.

"What's even funnier is in Jatinegara, land confiscated by the state is traded. So there is land confiscated by the state resulting from the BLBI corruption seized by the state in East Jakarta. Eh, houses can be built on this land, even in KPR-in," he said, in a virtual dialogue , Wednesday, October 13.

Furthermore, the Mufti admitted that he was surprised by the incident because the disputed land should not be traded let alone made housing until the case has obtained legal certainty.

The Mufti said that on the land confiscated by the BLBI corruption, 104 houses had been built. In fact, the public can get mortgage facilities from private banks.

Most of the consumers have fulfilled their payment obligations. However, said Mufti, there is no certainty about the rights to land ownership.

"If this is true, I'm really amazed that there is this, the land confiscated by the state can be built for a house, so we can also follow up with the Prosecutor's Office, finally we invite many parties," he said.

Mufti said that if there was a violation of the law, the government would take firm action against those who traded the disputed land.

"Perpetrators involved in the sale and purchase process of confiscated state land undergo the applicable law enforcement process," he explained.
