Lippo Karawaci Owned By Conglomerate Mochtar Riady Wants To Change Directors And Commissioners, Kartini Sjahrir Pandjaitan Will Become Independent Commissioner

JAKARTA - Property developer owned by Mochtar Riady conglomerate, PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk (LPKR) will hold an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS). The company's planned agenda in the EGMS is the change of directors and commissioners.

In LPKR's information disclosure on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) website, quoted on Monday, October 11, there are two new directors and one independent commissioner. Now in this independent commissioner position, reportedly will be filled by the younger brother of Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Kartini Sjahrir.

Lippo Karawaci will convene the EGMS on Wednesday 13 October. The figure of Kartini Sjahrir is a Senior Advisor for Climate Change Issues at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia.

The woman whose full name is Nurmala Kartini Pandjaitan Sjahrir is also Indonesia's representative on the Advisory Council of the ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconciliation (ASEAN-AIPR) in 2018-2020. He previously served as Independent Commissioner at PT Siloam International Hospitals Tbk.

In addition, this 71-year-old woman has served as the Indonesian Ambassador to Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay from 2010 to 2014, and received the most prestigious award medal from the Government of Argentina, the Order de Mayo el Merito en el Grando Cruz, on September 15, 2014 Since 2020, he has also served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the University of North Sumatra.
