Becoming The Main Sponsor Of The Mandalika Circuit, Pertamina's Boss Explains The Benefits They Will Get

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) has officially become the sponsor of the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit in Mandalika, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). President Director of PT Pertamina Nicke Widyawati said that sponsorship support for the circuit is part of efforts to restore the national economy. This is also included in the synergy of SOEs to develop the tourism sector.

"That's why we provide sponsorship for Mandalika," he said at the launch of the name of the Mandalika Circuit, Thursday, October 7.

According to Nicke, Pertamina has received several advantages by sponsoring this circuit. One of them is the automotive sector, which is the main event for the circuit, which is very close to Pertamina's products.

Furthermore, said Nicke, various activities that will be held at this circuit, including MotoGP, can be used to promote Pertamina's products on an international scale.

"For Pertamina, this synergy is in line with Pertamina's automotive business and we hope that Pertamina's synergy and involvement in this international event can also increase the company's trend in accordance with the program launched by the company," he said.

Then, continued Nicke, the MyPertamina application can also be widely used for activities on this circuit. The trick is to become a digital transaction tool during the event at the location of the Mandalika circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. Nicke considers this a great opportunity for Pertamina.

"Pertamina's digitalization can be used in this event for transactions, ticketing, merchandise, this is an opportunity to increase the number of customers," he said.

Lastly, said Nicke, Pertamina is also an energy company that is making an energy transition. On the other hand, West Nusa Tenggara is also rich in clean energy potential such as solar heat. Thus, this clean energy project will be developed in a joint location with ITDC.

Furthermore, Nicke said that the activity at the Mandalika circuit could be an opportunity to introduce Pertamina's efforts towards clean energy.
