JAKARTA - The management of CGV cinema, PT Graha Layar Prima Tbk (BLTZ) permanently closed the CGV Daya Grand Square Mall cinema in Makassar because the mall where it was founded was declared bankrupt.
Director of Graha Layar Prima Deoksu Yeo explained that this decision was taken based on a termination letter on September 24, 2021 which was signed by BLTZ with PT Makassar Rezky Cemerlang, the manager of the Daya Grand Square Mall, which is currently in bankruptcy.
"The company has decided to permanently close the CGV Daya Grand Square Mall cinema, which is located in Makassar City," he said in a written statement, quoted on Tuesday, September 28.
There is a permanent closure of the cinema because PT Makassar Rezky Cemerlang as the owner of the Daya Grand Square Mall has been declared bankrupt based on the decision of the commercial court at the Makassar District Court No3/Pdt.Sus-Pailit/2020/PN.Niaga.Mks, as of 27 August 2020.
On the other hand, BLTZ reopened its cinemas after the government continued to lower the PPKM level. A total of 47 CGV cinemas have reopened after the government's reduction in PPKM levels.
Deoksu Yeo explained that the company has reopened the operational activities of 8 CGV cinemas in several cities in Indonesia. He detailed the recently reopened cinemas, namely the CGV Cinema in Cirebon City, namely CGV Grage City Mall, and the CGV Cinema in Purwakarta City, namely the CGV Sadang Terminal Square Cinema.
This reopening is in connection with the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs No.42/2021 concerning the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities Level 4, Level 3, and Level 2 Coronavirus Disease 2019 in the Java and Bali Regions 17 September 2021.
"As of September 22, 2021, there have been 53 CGV cinemas that have reopened. The company has prepared a number of health protocols in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and local regulations," said Deoksu Yeo.
