JAKARTA - The state-owned construction company, PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) through its subsidiaries and grandchildren engaged in infrastructure investment, namely PT PP Infrastructure (PP Infra) and PT PP Tirta Riau (PP Trita Riau) carried out the First Pile Piling activity The Cross-City Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) of Pekanbaru and Kampar Regency.

This activity is a series process and part of the cooperation in the implementation of SPAM across Pekanbaru City and Kampar Regency with a Capacity of 1000 Liters Per Second (lpd) between PERUMDAM Tirta Siak Pekanbaru City, PERUMDAM Tirta Kampar Kampar Regency and PT Sarana Pembangunan Riau.

The first inauguration of SPAM Crossing Pekanbaru and Kampar Regency was also attended directly by the Governor of Riau Province H. Syamsuar, Mayor of Pekanbaru H. Firdaus, Regent of Kampar H. Catur Sugeng Susanto, Director of Operations of PT PP Infrastruktur Satya Priambodo, Director of PT PP Tirta Riau Achmad Sanusi, and Director of PT Sarana Pembangunan Riau Fuady Noor.

The erection event was held on Monday 20 September at the project site, namely Kualu Village, Tambang District, Kampar Regency.

Since the groundbreaking of the Pekanbaru and Kampar Regency SPAM groundbreaking activities in November 2020, PP Tirta Riau has continued to coordinate with stakeholders related to other processes to accelerate the fulfillment of preliminary requirements in the form of design planning processes, licensing and so on.

This erection activity is the initial process of starting the construction phase of the SPAM construction, which is expected to eventually flow to the customer's house gradually by the end of 2022.

"The construction of the Production Unit Installation is planned to take place in two stages where it has a total capacity of 1,000 liters per second with the output of drinking water quality standards according to the Regulation of the Minister of Health and 24 hours per day service. Meanwhile, the construction of the pipeline network will be carried out in four stages which are planned to serve the needs of Household and Non-Household customers in Pekanbaru City and Kampar Regency," said Director of Operations for PP Infrastruktur, Satya Priyambodo in a written statement, quoted on Tuesday, September 21.

SPAM Cross City Pekanbaru and Kampar Regency will serve around 624,000 people (102,000 house connections) in five sub-districts, namely: Tampan, Bukit Raya, Marpoyan Damai, Siak Hulu, and Tambang with an increase in service coverage from the previous 0 percent in the service area to 55 percent in the greenfields area.

"The raw water source to be used in the area comes from the Kampar River," said PTPP's Corporate Secretary, Yuyus Juarsa.

In addition to investment in the upstream production unit and downstream distribution unit, PP Tirta Riau will support PERUMDAM in the form of planning and management assistance.

This is done to improve the service and performance of PERUMDAM in carrying out drinking water supply activities for customer needs in the Cooperation Area, both in terms of quality, quantity, continuity, and affordability through funding investment assistance, implementation of measurable service improvements, use of systems, programs, technology and knowledge needed to improve PERUMDAM performance.

"To facilitate the implementation of SPAM across Pekanbaru City and Kampar Regency to run smoothly in terms of customer absorption, at this event a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed which was mutually beneficial between PERUMDAM Tirta Siak & PERUMDAM Tirta Kampar with the Developer Association. Housing (ASPERNAS), Indonesian Real Estate (REI) and the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI)," said Director of PP Tirta Riau, Achmad Sanusi.

"This MOU is a positive step that supports each other and strengthens the business branches of each party, provides healthy water quality for the community, protects excessive groundwater extraction and reduces public spending to meet their water needs at affordable prices according to the published tariff calculations. government," he added.
