JAKARTA - SOE Minister Erick Thohir welcomed the cooperation between PT Perusahaan Pengelola Asset (Persero) and PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk (Bank Muamalat) and the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) regarding the Asset Management Master Agreement.

Erick said that this collaboration was a mandate from the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, KH Ma'ruf Amin, who wanted Bank Muamalat as part of the sharia economic ecosystem in Indonesia.

Erick also appreciated and expressed his gratitude to the OJK, BPK RI, the Attorney General's Office, Bank Muamalat, the Sharia Economic Community, and the ranks of the Ministry of SOEs, as well as BPKH who supported the realization of this initial step of sharia cooperation.

The Minister of SOEs hopes that the cooperation in the sharia economic ecosystem will not stop here. Because, there are still targets to be achieved in the future.

In order to implement one of the business pillars, PT PPA with support from the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) as a shareholder manages the low quality assets of Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk. For this, PT PPA together with Bank Muamalat and BPKH signed a Master Restructuring Agreement (MRA).

The MRA signing ceremony was held between PT PPA President Director Yadi Jaya Ruchandi, BPKH Executive Board Member A Iskandar Zulkarnain, and Bank Muamalat President Director Achmad K Permana witnessed directly by SOE Minister Erick Thohir at the SOE Ministry Building, Jakarta, Wednesday 15 September.

President Director of PT PPA Yadi Jaya Ruchandi expressed his gratitude for the support of the Minister of SOEs as Shareholders to PT PPA to be able to carry out its role as a manager of Bank Muamalat's low-quality assets, so that Bank Muamalat can focus on sustainable business growth.

"This step is in line with PT PPA's plan to develop investment activities to become a National Asset Management Company (NAMCO)," Yadi said.

Meanwhile, Bank Muamalat President Director Achmad K Permana said the synergy between Bank Muamalat, BPKH, and PT PPA is part of efforts to strengthen Bank Muamalat's capital structure by managing financing assets.

"We are grateful for the support of all parties, including OJK as the regulator and the Ministry of SOEs. God willing, Bank Muamalat in the future can grow with an even better business model as one of the locomotives of the Islamic banking industry and promote Hajj services in Indonesia," said Achmad .

This MRA regulates and documents all stages and series of transactions in the context of managing Bank Muamalat's low-quality financing assets related to strengthening Bank Muamalat's capital. The MRA also regulates the legal relationship that forms the basis for the implementation of transactions that will be carried out separately in the future, among others, the issuance and purchase of sharia-based instruments (sukuk), and the agreement on the management of low-quality financing assets belonging to Bank Muamalat by prioritizing the principles of good corporate governance. good and based on applicable laws and regulations.

According to Law No. 34 of 2014 concerning Hajj Financial Management, Bank Muamalat is one of the Recipient Banks for Hajj Organizing Fees (BPS-BPIH), which is registered in the Integrated Hajj Information and Computerization System (SISKOHAT) of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia.
