Chinese Products Dominate Bangka Belitung Imports, The Amount Reaches Rp54 Billion

JAKARTA - The Central Bureau of Statistics of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province stated that in the January to July 2021 period, the province's non-oil and gas imports were dominated by China with a value of US$3.82 million or a 60.48 percent role.

"Imports from January to July this year are only imports of non-oil and gas, while there is no oil and gas," said Head of BPS for the Province of the Babylon Islands Dwi Retno Wilujeng Wahyu Utami in Pangkalpinang, quoted from Antara, Friday, September 3.

He said that during the January-July period this year, China was ranked first in the import role of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, followed by Malaysia with 1250.68 thousand US dollars or 19.80 percent.

Furthermore, Vietnam and Singapore are the other two countries that are ranked next. The roles of the two countries are 18.87 percent and 0.85 percent, respectively.

"The role of the import value during January-July 2021 from the four countries of origin of imports to the Bangka Belitung Islands Province is 100 percent and only comes from non-oil and gas," he said.

He explained that the import value of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in July 2021 was US$0.53 million. The import value increased by 959.53 percent compared to July 2020. The total import value during January-July 2021 was 6.32 million US dollars.

"When compared to the previous period from January to July 2020, the value of imports decreased by 35.83 percent," he said.

According to him, non-oil and gas imports from January to July 2021 are dominated by electrical machinery/equipment in the form of carbon electrodes and carbon brushes. About 34.45 percent or 2.18 million US dollars belong to this group.

The import value of mechanical machinery/aircraft ranks second with a role of 29.19 percent. Meanwhile, the rest is mineral fuel, which consists entirely of anthracite, ceramic products as well as plastics and plastic goods.

"The role of the five categories of goods in non-oil and gas imports from the Bangka Belitung Islands is 93.39 percent," he said.
