JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said industrial facilities that had a production permit when the Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) were implemented are required to temporarily stop their activities if evidence of the spread of COVID-19 is found in the area.

"If a cluster is found, the industry will be closed for 5 days," he said during a virtual press conference on Monday, August 16.

Airlangga added that export-oriented and supporting industries are allowed to operate 100 percent by implementing strict protocols.

"The 100 percent policy is allowed for PPKM Level 3 areas while still paying attention to and complying with predetermined rules," he said.

On the same occasion, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that the trial of 100 percent operational implementation in the industrial sector involved hundreds of thousands of workers.

“The total number of employees who will take part in this trial is more than 390,000 people. The industry will be allowed to operate 100 percent by implementing strict health protocols and only 2 shifts," he said.

In addition, the government, called Luhut, also requires business actors to use the Peduli Protect application as one of the requirements for business activities.

"Screening must be done before and after employees work," he said.

For information, the Ministry of Industry regulates manufacturing activities during the pandemic through the granting of Operational and Industrial Activity Mobility Permits (IOMKI).

The policy of easing easing activities with strict health protocols and discipline is stated in the Circular Letter of the Minister of Industry Number 3 of 2021 concerning Operational Permits and Mobility of Industrial Activities (IOMKI) during the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Period.

In technical implementation in the field, companies that already have IOMKI are required to submit reports on the operational implementation and mobility of industrial activities twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, electronically through the National Industrial Information System portal or SIINas (siinas.kemenperin.go .id).
