JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan ensured that the government extended the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) in the Java-Bali region for one week until August 23, 2021.
"Under the direction and instructions of the President, PPKM Levels 4, 3, and 2 will be in the Java-Bali region until August 23, 2021," he said at a press conference, Monday, August 16.
According to Luhut, in the implementation of PPKM one week ahead, there will be an additional eight regencies and cities that enter level 3 so that it becomes 61 regencies/cities.
"Further decisions related to this will be issued in detail through the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs," he said.
To note, the implementation of PPKM from August 10 to 16, 2021, there are 71 out of 128 regencies/cities in the Java-Bali region which are at level 4. 26 regencies/cities down from level 4 to 3.
Then, there are 45 of the 386 regencies/cities outside Java and Bali that are at level 4. In the past week, there were 6 regencies/cities that fell from level 2 to level 1 and 28 regencies/cities that fell from level 4 to level 3.
