Sri Mulyani Uploads Photo With Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Nostalgic Friendship Since High School

JAKARTA - The great thing about true friends are those who bring new energy into your soul. These words of wisdom may be grasped by many people when they are friends.

This friendship is also reflected in the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati and Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi. Sri Mulyani uploaded a number of photos of nostalgic moments of her friendship with Retno Marsudi.

“Artificial intelligence in our gadgets often makes a collection of fun photos. One of them is the photos of me and @retno_marsudi the last few years before Covid-19," said Sri Mulyani in the smindrawati Instagram account, Sunday, August 1.

She explained that the photo she uploaded was a story of Sri Mulyani's friendship with Retno Marsudi from high school until now.

"In living life and carrying out any responsibilities or work, it really means a lot and gives us more strength and courage if we have friends who are true and of one heart and agree. Thank you @retno_marsudi for our friendship," said Sri Mulyani.

During the pandemic, these two heroines were busy with the COVID-19 pandemic. Sri Mulyani is working hard to tamper with the budget related to the allocation for handling COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Retno Marsudi is a pioneer in lobbying international countries to get a COVID-19 vaccine.

Recently, as many as 3.5 million doses of Moderna vaccine made in the United States (US) reportedly arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Sunday, August 1. Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi in a press statement via video said that the Moderna vaccine support was provided through the COVAX vaccine-sharing scheme after intensive discussions with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and US National Security Adviser Jack Sullivan.

"The United States has provided additional US dose-sharing vaccine support through the COVAX Facility, 3.5 million doses have arrived in Jakarta," Retno said in a video uploaded by the Presidential Secretariat on the Youtube channel.

The arrival of the vaccine is the third phase of Moderna's vaccine from the US. Previously, Indonesia had received 4,500,160 doses of vaccine from the US in two stages, 3,000,060 and 1,500,100 doses, respectively, said Retno.

"With today's arrival, the number of Moderna vaccines, the US Government's cooperation support through the COVAX Facility that Indonesia has received is 8,000,160 doses of finished vaccines," said the Foreign Minister.

Retno expressed her gratitude to the US because the assistance was very valuable for handling the pandemic in Indonesia.

"I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude to the US Government for the additional support for the Moderna vaccine. Cooperation through the dose-sharing mechanism is one important way to get the world out of this pandemic," she said.

To date, Indonesia has received 178,357,880 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, consisting of 144,700,280 doses in bulk and 33,657,600 doses of the finished vaccine.
