Cibitung-Cilincing Section 1 Toll Road Can Operate Tomorrow Saturday

JAKARTA - PT Cibitung Tanjung Priok Port Tollways announced that the Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road Section 1 Segment of the Cibitung-Telaga Asih Interchange, Bekasi Regency is ready to operate from Saturday 31 July after meeting the technical, administrative and operating system eligibility requirements.

President Director of PT Cibitung Tanjung Priok Port Tollways Thorry Hendarto said the operation of this national strategic project was based on the Decree of the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Number 837/KPTS/M/2021.

He said the 2.65 kilometer toll road is part of the JORR 2 Toll Road which is projected to be able to shorten the travel time from East Jakarta to North Jakarta.

"From Cibitung to Tanjung Priok, it usually takes more than an hour via Japek and the inner city toll road. But later when it's completely completed, it takes about half an hour to pass through the Cibitung-Cilincing Toll," he said, quoted from Antara, Friday, July 30. .

Thorry said that the operation of this toll segment is planned in two stages. The first is on July 31 to August 7, 2021 with a trial status so that road users are not subject to tariffs.

In the second phase, starting on August 8, 2021, according to the previous discussion, users of this road will be charged a toll fee of Rp. 1,987 per kilometer. The amount of toll tariffs and categories of motorized vehicle types have been stipulated in the Decree of the Minister of PUPR Number 838/KPTS/M/2021.

"But the tariff will be adjusted by taking into account the developments and dynamics that occur during the implementation of PPKM," he said.

The operation of the section I Cibitung Toll Road is aimed at socializing as well as being in line with government policies in easing the burden on the community and industry players during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Of course it also greatly shortens the travel time of vehicles, especially these logistics vehicles," he said.

The head of the Public Communication Bureau of the PUPR Ministry, Krisno Yuwono, said the presence of the Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road, which is a toll road network in the Jakarta-Bogor-Depok-Tangerang-Bekasi (Jabodetabek) metropolitan area, will connect industrial area connectivity in Cikarang with Tanjung Priok Port.

"Of course this provides support for smooth mobility, commuter movements, and logistics, especially towards the Cibitung and Cilincing industrial areas," he said.
