Trade Minister Lutfi Reveals There Are Markets That Are Not Allowed To Open Until 20.00, Check Out The Explanation

JAKARTA - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Muhammad Lutfi conveyed that all people's markets in Java-Bali, including Jakarta may be opened during the Enforcement of Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) with the provisions set by the government to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

"So if we look at markets that sell basic necessities, all people's markets in Jakarta may be open until eight o'clock at night with 50 percent capacity," said Trade Minister Lutfi during a virtual press conference in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday 27 July.

The Trade Minister explained that markets in West Java may also be open until 8 pm with a capacity of 50 percent. But, specifically in the city of Bandung, the operating hours are from 4 am to 10 am. Meanwhile in Bogor, markets are allowed to open from 5 am to 4 pm.

Meanwhile in Central Java, the market is open until 8 pm with a capacity of 50 percent of visitors. However, specifically in Banyumas, the opening of the market starts at 5 am to 2 pm. In Cilacap from 5 am to 2 pm and Surakarta from 5 am to 5 pm. Then in Tegal, the market is allowed to open from 5 am to 1 pm.

As for East Java, the maximum market is open until 8 pm with a capacity of 50 percent. In Malang the market operating hours are from 6 am to 11 pm, and in Probolinggo the market is open from 5 am to 4 pm.

Then in Bali, Banten, and the Special Region of Yogyakarta, markets are allowed to open until 8 pm with a capacity of 50 percent of visitors.

"Grocery shops, agents, barbershops, laundry, hawkers, vehicle washers, and small businesses may also be open until 9 pm," said Trade Minister Lutfi.

Meanwhile, food stalls are also allowed to open until 8 pm with a maximum visit of 20 minutes and no more than three people.

"Indeed, we are still experiencing restrictions, but we hope this can help from the economic movement in markets and stalls in Java and Bali," said Trade Minister Lutfi.
