Other positions he has held include Director of Finance and President Director of MedcoEnergi, President Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero) to becoming Advisor to the Board of IDB Member Countries Sovereign Investment Forum.

Sugiharto graduated from the University of Indonesia and then continued his education at the School of Management in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and Gajah Mada University.
