JAKARTA - Bukalapak reports that until April 2021 or the first quarter it has succeeded in attracting as many as 8 million micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) partners. This number is expected to continue to increase in line with the company's continued expansion.
Bukalapak's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Muhammad Rachmat Kaimuddin said that when compared to similar competitors, the company he led managed to control 40 percent of the market from the MSME stall segment.
Furthermore, Rachmat said that to get this achievement, it was very difficult and he had to face various challenges on his way.
"In the ecosystem that we have developed for MSME partners and lapak partners, the current network of lapak partners in Indonesia as of April 2021 recorded 8 million partners who have joined us," he said at a virtual public expose, Friday, July 9.
According to Rachmat, MSME partners will get various benefits who join Bukalapak, including wider market access, getting supplies of goods at the best prices and ease of accessing capital from banks or other financial institutions.
"From the survey we conducted, our partner stalls have tripled their income and will continue to grow in the following years," he explained.
As a digital company, said Rachmat, Bukalapak will continue to encourage business growth for both internal companies and all partners who join. Then, the existence of limited funds will be utilized optimally in order to be able to bring profits.
"Bukalapak started from a simple place and only had Rp 80,000 in capital, we realized from the start that funds were a limited resource and had to be used properly and optimally," he explained.
