JAKARTA - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP), a national construction and investment company under the auspices of Danantara Indonesia, has again demonstrated its commitment to driving the transformation of the construction industry through the implementation of Lean Construction. This commitment is realized by participating in The 34th Annual Conference of the International Group for Lean Construction (IGLC34) which was held at the National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore.

In an international forum that brought together academics, practitioners, and actors in the construction industry from various countries, PTPP presented a study on the implementation of Takt Planning and Control on the Diponegoro University (UNDIP) Twin Tower Project. Takt planning and control is an approach in Lean Construction that is used to stabilize workflows and improve project performance through a rhythm-based production system.

The study raised by PTPP also explores how project performance improvement develops gradually during implementation, with a focus on planning (takt planning) and production control (takt control) contributions.

Through the research action approach in the UNDIP Twin Tower project, this study distinguishes the performance improvement resulting from the planning stage and the additional improvements that arise during the implementation process. Implementation results show that takt planning is able to shorten the duration of the project plan while creating a more stable workflow from the beginning of implementation.

The takt control mechanism provides a learning space through the identification of deviations between the plan and the realization of production. This finding allows for quick and specific corrective actions in each work zone, so that project performance can continue to be improved on an ongoing basis.

This research also shows that the dynamics of performance degradation in the early stage is part of the learning process in the adaptation of the takt-based production system. The lesson learned obtained from the implementation on the first stage Tower can then be applied to the second stage Tower, resulting in a more effective workflow and better overall project performance.

PTPP Corporate Secretary, Joko Raharjo, said that PTPP's participation in IGLC34 was proof that the company's developed innovations were able to contribute to the development of the construction industry, not only at the national level but also at international forums.

"PTPP's participation in IGLC34 is a manifestation of the company's commitment to bringing innovations that add value to the construction industry. The implementation of Lean Construction through the Takt Planning and Control method on the Diponegoro University Twin Tower Project shows that the experience and best practices developed by PTPP are able to increase project productivity while becoming a relevant reference in international forums," said Joko Raharjo, in his statement, Thursday, July 10.

Through participation in IGLC34, PTPP not only shares its experience in implementing Lean Construction in Indonesia, but also expands collaboration with global academics and practitioners to encourage the development of more efficient, productive, and sustainable construction practices. In the future, PTPP will continue to strengthen the implementation of Lean Construction as part of the company's transformation in delivering quality projects that provide added value for all stakeholders.
