JAKARTA - Perum Bulog proposes a change of management of its subsidiary, PT Gendhis Multi Manis (GMM) to shareholders.

This proposal was rolled out after hearing various aspirations conveyed by sugarcane farmers in the Blora area, Central Java.

Head of Public Relations Division of Perum Bulog Tomi Wijaya said that every input submitted by farmers was a serious concern for the company in making improvements.

"Every input from farmers is our concern. Various improvement steps that have been carried out are a form of Bulog's commitment to ensure that the company's operations are getting better," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, June 2.

Tomi said the sugar cane farmers hoped that PT GMM could be managed more professionally, effectively and oriented towards improving services to farmers.

Furthermore, Tomi said that Bulog assessed that a change in leadership was needed to strengthen operational coordination, accelerate decision-making processes, and build better relationships with sugarcane farmers as the main partners in the national sugar production chain.

"And provide optimal benefits for sugarcane farmers and all stakeholders," he said.

In addition to improving management, Bulog has also submitted a proposal for the repair of the PT GMM boiler to shareholders through the applicable mechanism. This step is taken to increase the reliability of the production facility so that the sugarcane milling process can run more optimally.

Bulog, continued Tomi, also understands that the smooth operation of the sugar factory is an important factor in ensuring the receipt and processing of farmers' sugar cane.

Therefore, various improvements are carried out gradually while still prioritizing the principles of good corporate governance and in accordance with applicable regulations.

In the future, Bulog will continue to open communication spaces and strengthen coordination with all related parties to ensure that the improvement process runs effectively.

"At the same time, we will maintain the sustainability of a healthy, productive, and sustainable national sugar industry," he said.
