JAKARTA - The Ministry of Cooperatives (Kemenkop) held a national coordination meeting (Rakornas) with the theme "National Collaboration to Accelerate the Implementation of Red and White Village Cooperative (KDKMP)" involving all Provincial and District/City Heads who are in charge of Cooperatives throughout Indonesia (selindo) as well as other stakeholders in Jakarta, Wednesday, May 13.

Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono appreciates all the support from the local government and other related Ministries/Institutions so that the KDKMP national strategic program can run from the process of forming a legal entity to the operationalization phase which will be carried out soon. He emphasized that without the support and involvement of all parties, this program is difficult to carry out so that it is hoped that the consistency of the support can continue to be carried out until the operationalization phase.

"I appreciate all the heads of the Cooperative Service, both at the provincial and district/city levels, because we have successfully implemented the Presidential Instruction on the establishment of the legal entity of KDKMP," he said, quoted on Thursday, May 14.

According to him, the first phase of the inauguration of the operationalization of the KDMKP in the Central Java and East Java provinces will be carried out by 1,061 units, where the inauguration symbol will be carried out at the KDKMP in the Nganjuk region of East Java.

Meanwhile, regarding the progress of the KDKMP construction, as of Wednesday, May 14, 37,327 KDKMP units have been and are being built throughout Indonesia, and as many as 8,927 units have completed 100 percent of the building of outlets, warehouses and other equipment.

"The success of KDKMP is not just a legal entity or building, but must function to sell basic necessities, absorb community production results, and distribute central government programs," Ferry said.

Ferry said that as a legal umbrella guideline in the operationalization of the KDKMP, a Presidential Instruction (Inpres) would be issued soon, where currently the draft of this Inpres has been submitted to the Ministry of State Secretariat. In this draft, there is information about how to accelerate the operationalization of the KDKMP which involves cross-sectoral Ministries and Institutions.

"The points contain information about the business model, about recruiting human resources for its operationalization, then information management systems and so on," he said.

Minister of Transportation Ferry again emphasized that if the 83,000 KDKMP operates well, Indonesia will be the only country with the largest and most successful number of cooperatives in villages in the world. The President assessed this achievement as a milestone in the development of people's economy.

"The existence of KDKMP is expected to play an important role in efforts to create economic nodes in villages or sub-districts. In fact, collectively, cooperatives are expected to become the main economic institutions that have a major influence on national economic growth," said Ferry.

Ferry emphasized that through the Rakornas, it was necessary for cross-ministry and agency collaboration as well as regional heads so that the operationalization process could run well. This synergy is believed to be able to restore cooperatives as the main instrument for economic development in accordance with the constitution.

"Hopefully, our struggle will be a big step in building an independent, strong, and prosperous people's economy, and making cooperatives as the guru of the national economy," said Ferry.
