JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia said President Prabowo Subianto put the people's interests as the main consideration in every policy, even in the midst of global energy turmoil.
"The President always pays attention to the interests of the people, especially to our less fortunate brothers and sisters, who must receive more attention in order to make policies so that everything can run well," Bahlil said at a press conference regarding government policies in responding to global geopolitical conditions, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 1.
In the midst of global geopolitical challenges and dynamics, the government continues to strive to keep the national energy sector running well and remain on the side of the people.
The reserve of fuel oil and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is also maintained to remain above the national standard.
In addition, the implementation of the mandatory 50 percent biodiesel (B50) program, a mixture of 50 percent palm oil-based biodiesel with 50 percent solar, this year is also expected to create a surplus of solar stocks in the country.
"Several other countries have implemented various policies in order to be efficient in their country, we are grateful to God Almighty for the guidance and direction of the President, our fuel reserves are all above the national minimum standard," said Bahlil.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will also accelerate policy studies so that they can adapt to the rapid changes in world energy prices, especially in the oil and gas sector (migas).
Bahlil revealed that he was still discussing adjustments to the price of non-subsidized fuel oil (BBM) with Pertamina and the private fuel filling station (SPBU) management business entity.
"For non-subsidized fuel, to this day we are discussing with the Pertamina team and other private gas stations until the time is over," said Bahlil.
Meanwhile, to maintain people's purchasing power, the Government also decided not to adjust the price of subsidized fuel. This means that the price of Specified Fuel Type (JBT) or solar and Special Fuel Type for Assignment (JBKP) or pertalite remains the same as it is today.
"The government, at the direction of the President, and the results of the meeting, there is no adjustment to the price of subsidized fuel. This means that it is flat (fixed), still using the current price," said Bahlil.
Bahlil also invited the public to support the government's efforts by using energy reasonably and wisely, including in fuel consumption.
In line with this, the government has implemented energy efficiency through reasonable purchases, or restrictions on the purchase of JBKP (subsidized gasoline) of a maximum of 50 liters per day per vehicle.
This restriction also applies to the purchase of JBT (subsidized solar) for private cars, while for public passenger and freight vehicles there are no changes.
"So for the 50 liters, it is for each car, it does not apply to truck transportation. Trucks must be more, public transportation, buses, it must be more than that standard," said Bahlil.
