JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI has prepared cash amounting to IDR 23.97 trillion to meet the needs of people's transactions ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.
This step is taken to anticipate a surge in cash withdrawals and transaction activities ahead of the peak Lebaran homecoming which takes place on March 11-24, 2026.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that the provision of liquidity had been adjusted to the projected increase in community needs during the period.
"BNI ensures the readiness of liquidity and service networks so that people can transact safely and comfortably during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period," said Okki, Friday, February 27.
From the total funds prepared, continued Okki, Rp. 16.64 trillion was allocated for filling the Mandiri Automated Teller Machine (ATM) and Cash Recycle Machine (CRM).
Meanwhile, another Rp7.33 trillion was prepared to meet the transaction needs at branch office outlets.
BNI estimates that the cash requirement during this period reaches around IDR 1.71 trillion per day.
This projection takes into account the trend of increasing community transactions, including the disbursement of holiday allowances (THR), Lebaran shopping needs, and preparation for homecoming.
To support services during the Lebaran holiday, BNI also operates branch offices in a limited manner on March 20, 2026 with 23 outlets and on March 23, 2026 with 32 outlets.
The limited operational service is open from 10.00-12.00 local time and serves certain transactions such as Pertamina fuel deposit, Bulog, state revenue, transfer of funds between BNI accounts, as well as cash deposits and withdrawals.
In addition to the branch office network, BNI optimizes the BNI Mobile Service (O-Branch) which is located in a number of strategic locations such as homecoming routes, tourist areas, and crowded points.
The company also relies on more than 217,000 Agen46 spread throughout Indonesia to bring banking services closer to the community.
On the digital side, BNI continues to encourage the use of the wondr by BNI application which as of the end of February 2026 has been used by 12.7 million customers.
Through this application, the public can carry out various transactions such as fund transfers, bill payments, purchasing necessities, to monitoring expenses without having to come to the branch office.
"We are committed to providing optimal services through the synergy of physical and digital networks so that the banking needs of customers during the homecoming and Eid al-Fitr periods are still well met," concluded Okki.
With the readiness of liquidity of almost IDR 24 trillion and the support of an extensive service network, BNI ensures that the needs of people's transactions during Ramadan and Lebaran 2026 can be met smoothly, safely, and integrated, both through physical and digital channels.
