JAKARTA - The operation of the Jatake Station since January 28, 2026 has a significant impact on the surge in commuter line passenger volume across Rangkasbitung or known as the Green Line.
The presence of this new station is an alternative access to public transportation for the people of Tangerang and its surroundings, as well as strengthening the mobility of the Jakarta buffer area.
KAI Commuter noted that the trend of increasing users in the last three years continues to show a positive graph. In 2025, the number of users reached 76,640,940 people, up 9 percent compared to 2024 as many as 69,999,362 people. When compared to 2023 which recorded 62,085,471 people, the increase reached 11 percent.
VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter Karina Amanda said that the presence of Jatake Station is one of the catalysts for this growth.
"Data shows a positive growth trend after the station officially operated as an alternative new access for the community," Karina said in an official statement, Wednesday, February 25.
Karina said that since its initial operation until February 24, 2026, Jatake Station recorded an accumulation of 34,177 gate in users and 26,961 gate out users, with an average of 1,221 people per day.
The surge was also seen from the comparison before and after the station was operational. In the period from 19 to 25 January 2026, the number of users crossing Rangkasbitung-Tanah Abang was recorded at 1,508,285 people. Meanwhile, in the period from 9 to 15 February 2026, the number increased to 1,737,191 people.
"This increase is not only the role of Jatake as a new station but also the increase in users at almost all stations along Tanah Abang-Rangkasbitung," he explained.
Karina added that the surge of almost 230,000 users in a span of one week showed an increase in the accessibility of public transportation for the people of Tangerang and its surroundings, as well as an increase in public confidence in Commuter Line services.
Year-on-year, continued Karina, the growth of cross-Tanah Abang-Rangkasbitung users also continues to increase. Throughout 2025, this crossing serves 77,552,716 users, higher than 2024 by 69,999,362 people, 2023 by 62,085,471 people, and 2022 by 43,317,716 people.
Green Line is one of the high-mobility crossings that connect the Banten, Bogor, Tangerang, and Jakarta regions as the center of economic activity, settlements, and offices.
Currently, KAI Commuter operates 206 trips on the line, with 192 trips serving Jatake Station. Together with the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation, infrastructure strengthening is also being carried out, including the development of electrification of the line to increase the capacity and reliability of services.
"KAI Commuter also continues to evaluate the operating pattern by optimizing the waiting time (headway) between 10-15 minutes at busy morning and afternoon times. We also plan to add a series that is currently undergoing a trial of facilities," concluded Karina.
