JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has confirmed that the Eid allowance (THR) for state civil servants (ASN) or civil servants will begin to be paid at the beginning of Ramadan 2026.
He emphasized that the disbursement was targeted to take place no later than the first week of Ramadan.
"(The schedule for the disbursement of THR) is the first week of Ramadan," he told the media, Wednesday, February 18.
Purbaya added that the government hopes that this policy will be able to boost people's purchasing power ahead of Eid al-Fitr while maintaining economic circulation during Ramadan.
He said that the value of the budget prepared was quite large to provide stimulus to the economy, especially in the first quarter of 2026.
Purbaya said the government also relied on accelerating regional spending as well as supporting liquidity conditions and monetary policy so that the momentum of economic growth remained maintained.
"The momentum of economic growth should continue. The faster, the faster, the faster. I hope that the first quarter will be between 5.6 percent and 6 percent," he explained.
Previously, the Ministry of Finance allocated funds of around Rp55 trillion for the payment of state apparatus THR in 2026.
Meanwhile, the budget is intended for ASN, Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK), TNI and Polri soldiers, judges, and retirees.
The disbursement of THR at the beginning of Ramadan is part of the realization of state spending in the first quarter of 2026 which reached Rp809 trillion and the value of this year's THR budget was recorded higher than the previous year which was Rp49.9 trillion.
