JAKARTA - The Indonesian Association of Retailers and Mall Tenants (Hippindo) targets shopping transactions during Ramadan to Lebaran 2026 to reach around Rp. 50 trillion.
Deputy Chairman of Hippindo Fetty Kwartati said that the target figure takes into account the value of spending on 800 brands, 80 outlets and more than 400 Hippindo member malls throughout Indonesia.
"This is indeed predicted to increase from the previous year, increasing by around 10-15 percent," said Fetty at a press conference in Jakarta, Friday, February 13.
Fetty said that the target for achieving this was part of the Belanja di Indonesia Aja or Bina Great Sale program organized by the Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) from March 6 to March 30, 2026.
Fetty said that malls are very important places as shopping destinations for families and meeting places. Shopping centers also become a showcase for selling products from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to global brands.
"This is the integration of tourism and shopping that further strengthens the appeal of Indonesia," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Promotion Program of the Indonesian Shopping Center Management Association (DPP APPBI) Agung Gunawan said that the association had prepared operationally and security to support visitor comfort.
Tenants have also been notified to prepare interesting programs to buy goods or food.
The potential that exists during Lebaran is the large number of places to eat when approaching the fasting time at 17.00 to 20.00. Then after that it will be enlivened again at 20.00 to 22.00.
"We also encourage every shopping center to present a series of thematic Ramadan events that can provide a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable shopping experience for the community," he explained.
According to Agung, the momentum of Ramadan and Eid is the highest period of transactions for the retail sector. Collaboration between business actors and the government also supports the positive impact of national economic growth.
