JAKARTA - Following the merger of Gojek - Tokopedia, the retailer managing Hypermart outlets, PT Matahari Putra Prima Tbk (MPPA), has expanded its partnership with Tokopedia with a total network of 95 virtual stores that are active online.

MPPA Corporate Communication Director Danny Kojongian said this partnership brings more complete food and household products to the Tokopedia platform amidst the COVID-19 situation.

"This also places MPPA as the largest food retail company on the online platform in Indonesia," Danny said in a written statement, Wednesday, June 2.

Starting with 23 outlets around Jabodetabek in early December 2020, the company owned by conglomerate Mochtar Riady and Tokopedia has expanded the partnership to 47 stores in April 2021, growing to 82 stores in May 2021 and to date 95 stores.

MPPA will add more stores to the platform throughout 2021 to make this collaboration the strongest O2O partnership following the recent announcement of a mega-merger between Tokopedia and GoJek as a marketplace and consumer service based on decacorn technology in Indonesia.

The strengthening of this partnership has encouraged MPPA to present more attractive promotions and increased variety of daily household needs for customers, and also enabled MPPA to bring more Hypermart, Foodmart, Primo and Hyfresh virtual stores to Tokopedia to provide more access and convenience. for customers.

"Now customers will get more choices and variations in buying fresh products, groceries, household needs at the convenience of the popular online application Tokopedia," he explained.
