In addition, the IKFT sector also contributed 3.87 percent to GDP with the largest contribution coming from the chemical, pharmaceutical and traditional medicine industry sub-sector reaching 1.83 percent.
The positive performance of the IKFT sector throughout 2025 is supported by several subsectors that grow significantly.
One of them is the chemical, pharmaceutical and traditional medicine industry subsector which contributed to growth of 8.35 percent, up 2.49 percent from 2024 which was only 5.86 percent.
Meanwhile, in terms of trade, IKFT exports in January-September 2025 reached 49.15 billion US dollars, up 6.26 billion US dollars compared to the same period last year.
The realization of investment in the IKFT sector also increased. In January-September 2025, the investment flow of IKFT reached IDR 142.15 trillion, up from IDR 116.54 trillion in the same period last year.
The largest investment was recorded by the sub-sector of the chemical materials and goods from chemicals, namely IDR 58.4 trillion.
"The growth of IKFT in line with national growth shows that this sector remains an important mainstay of the non-oil and gas processing industry and is able to maintain the momentum of national industry growth," said the Secretary of the Directorate General of IKFT, Ministry of Industry, Sri Bimo Pratomo in a written statement, Tuesday, February 10.
It is known that sentiment towards the sector also still shows positive signals at the beginning of the year, reflected by the Industrial Confidence Index (IKI) in January 2026 which is still in the expansion phase, namely at the level of 54.12.
"This positive signal shows optimism from industry players and encourages the government to always maintain a conducive business climate, so that the performance of the IKFT sector can continue to improve," he said.
To maintain the sustainability of these achievements, said Bimo, his party is committed to continue to accelerate the implementation of various priority programs to increase the competitiveness of the national industry.
According to him, the achievement of growth that shows a positive trend not only needs to be maintained, but also strengthened through the deepening of industrial structures, both upstream and downstream.
"We are consistently encouraging the development of sustainable industrialization as an effort to accelerate import substitution and increase the added value of domestic products," he added.
