TANGERANG - PT Bank BCA Syariah's gold murabahah financing has recorded a significant spike throughout 2025. As of December 2025, the value of gold murabahah financing grew 238.1 percent year-on-year or yoy, with a value of Rp520 billion.
VP Retail & Consumer Business BCA Syariah, Arief Mediadianto, said that the growth of gold financing was in line with the increasing awareness of the public to invest in instruments that were considered safer amid economic uncertainty.
"As of December 2025, BCA Syariah's gold murabahah financing grew by 238.1 percent year-on-year with a value of Rp520 billion," said Arief in a discussion at the BCA Expoversary Mini Studio, Tangerang, written on Sunday, February 8.
Arief said BCA Syariah has carried out a number of initiatives to encourage this growth, including by facilitating access to gold financing.
Furthermore, Arief said that previously the submission of financing had to be done offline at the service office, now customers can access it through the BCA Syariah mobile banking application, BSya.
"We also work with various gold suppliers. Initially, the most popular, right, was only Antam, we then worked with Pegadaian, Gallery 24. Then with Hartadinata," explained Arief.
In the overall consumer segment, continued Arief, BCA Syariah financing also recorded solid growth. Total consumer financing increased 47.1 percent to Rp. 2.1 trillion, with gold financing contributing around 30 percent of the total portfolio of the segment.
Even though it recorded aggressive growth, Arief emphasized that the quality of financing remained well maintained. The ratio of problem financing or Non Performing Financing (NPF) is at the level of 1.57 percent, which is considered much lower than the industry average.
"The key to caution is to expand without increasing risk," he said.
Overall, Arief said BCA Syariah's financing performance until the end of 2025 showed a positive trend. Total financing grew 23.1 percent year-on-year to Rp13.2 trillion. Of this amount, commercial financing grew 20.3 percent to Rp10.1 trillion, while the small and medium enterprise (SME) segment grew 9.7 percent to Rp946 billion.
"If we are still talking about consumers, so far it is still supported by gold financing. Its contribution is probably around 30 percent," he said.
In line with the growth in financing, the company's assets also increased by 15.4 percent to Rp19.2 trillion. Third-party funds (DPK) recorded an annual growth of 17.1 percent to Rp15.4 trillion.
Arief said, in the midst of economic volatility throughout 2025, BCA Syariah deliberately maintains the pace of expansion to remain under control in order to manage risks optimally.
In 2026, continued Arief, the company's focus will shift to strengthening the MSME segment to expand risk distribution and support sustainable growth.
"The strategy will focus more on SMEs or MSMEs," he said.
