JAKARTA - The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) moved in the red zone on Thursday, January 29, 2026.

Referring to RTI data until 09.27 WIB, the JCI was recorded to have corrected 665.89 points or an equivalent decline of 8 percent to the level of 7,654.66.

At the start of trading, the JCI opened at 8,027.82, and throughout the session the index touched a high of 8,049.09 and a low of 7,654.66.

In terms of trading activity, the transaction volume reached 13.07 billion shares with a transaction value of IDR 10.98 trillion. The trading frequency was recorded as many as 863,333 transactions.

Stock movements were dominated by weakness, with 658 emitters falling, 33 stocks gaining and 20 stocks stagnating.

Therefore, PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) has again carried out a temporary trading freeze (trading halt).

The policy was enacted following a 8 percent decline in the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) to 7,654.66 on Thursday, January 29.

The Company Secretary of the IDX, Kautsar Primadi Nurahmad, said that on Thursday, January 29, 2026, the IDX had imposed a temporary freeze on the trading system at 09:26:01 Jakarta Automated Trading System (JATS) time.

"Today, Thursday, January 29, 2026, a temporary freezing of trading (trading halt) of the trading system at PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) was carried out at 09:26:01 Jakarta Automated Trading System (JATS) time. Trading will resume at 09:56:01 JATS time without any changes to the trading schedule," he said.

He explained that this step was taken in response to the decline in the JCI which had reached the threshold of 8 percent.

The implementation of this trading halt is part of the efforts of the IDX to maintain that stock trading activities continue to take place regularly, reasonably, and efficiently, as regulated in the Exchange Regulation Number II-A concerning Equity-Based Securities Trading and the IDX Board of Directors Decree Number Kep-00002/BEI/04-2025.
